Project Spotlight: Maestria Condominiums in Montreal, QC

Lafarge Canada continues to support the development of iconic urban structures, and the Maestria Condominiums in Montreal are no exception. These residential high-rise condominiums have become a striking addition to the city's skyline, exemplifying architectural innovation. With two buildings standing at 58 and 61 storeys, connected by Quebec’s highest suspended sky bridge, Maestria sets a new benchmark for luxury living and urban development. Located in the heart of the Quartier des Spectacles, this project showcases a seamless blend of structural mastery and elegant design, creating an unparalleled living experience.

Maestria Condominiums is shaping out to be an iconic project in Montreal, and we’re proud to be contributing to its success. Our collaboration with EDYFIC Construction has allowed us to showcase the versatility of our concrete solutions, particularly in terms of strength and innovation. Project Scope

Lafarge Canada partnered with EDYFIC Construction, the general contractor, to supply high-performance materials specifically tailored to meet the unique demands of the Maestria project. Our concrete products used on this project are Chronolia, WeatherMix, and DYNAMax high-performance concrete, which provided the strength and performance required for the project. The Ultra Series mix was also employed to improve pumpability at elevated levels, a critical factor for reaching over 50 storeys.

At Lafarge Canada, we specialize in designing and delivering concrete solutions tailored to the unique demands of each project. For Maestria, this meant providing high-performance materials that met the structural and aesthetic requirements of both the buildings and the skybridge. Our close collaboration with EDYFIC Construction ensured that every element aligned with the project's ambitious environmental goals.

Key Highlights

Some of the standout elements of the Maestria project include:

  • Height: The tallest residential buildings in Montreal, standing at 58 and 61 storeys.
  • Skybridge: Quebec’s highest suspended skybridge, offering panoramic views of the city.
  • Architecture: The design is inspired by the golden ratio, reminiscent of Renaissance cathedrals, adding harmony and balance to the overall structure.
  • Location: Situated in the heart of Montreal’s cultural district, Maestria provides residents with front-row access to the vibrant Place des Festivals and proximity to major academic institutions and the metro.

Key Milestones:

  • High-Performance Concrete Solutions: The use of DYNAMax and the ULTRA Series mix played an important role in meeting the structural requirements of the Maestria Condominiums. These high-performance materials ensured the strength, durability, and efficiency necessary for a project of this size.
  • Breakthrough in High-Level Pumping: Achieving successful concrete pumping at heights exceeding 50 storeys is a remarkable accomplishment. On Maestria, this was made possible through the support of our technical team modifying mixes to enhance pumpability and ensuring consistent quality throughout the construction process.
