ROB CUMMING

Head Of Sustainability and Public Affairs, Eastern Canada 

Rob is the head of Sustainability, Environment, and Public Affairs for Lafarge Eastern Canada, a role he has held since May 2021. He brings over 30 years of hands-on experience in industrial sustainability, leading a dedicated team of professionals, driving decarbonization initiatives, shaping public policy toward green procurement, advocating for carbon pricing systems and instilling ESG principles in the industrial sector.  

Rob's role entails comprehensive oversight of environmental, regulatory, and sustainability matters across various facets of Lafarge's operations, including cement, aggregates, ready mix, asphalt, and slag operations in Eastern Canada, extending across Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia.

Under his leadership, Lafarge Eastern Canada strongly emphasizes sustainability, focusing on the circular economy, achieving net-zero emissions, and fostering harmony with nature and communities while championing diversity. Rob is responsible for ensuring compliance, nurturing regulatory relations, advocating for well-informed regulations, facilitating robust community outreach, implementing effective environmental management systems, spearheading innovative carbon reduction strategies, and championing the principles of a circular economy, among other facets of an all-encompassing environmental and sustainability program.
